I had a pretty okay experience living here but the move-out experience had some serious problems.
Maintenance was always quick to respond to my requests. I never had any problems while I was living there with the staff and they were nice enough to work with. The rent was about as fair as it gets in the disaster that is the Utah rental market. However, there was some water damage in my unit that was disguised by a fresh coat of paint.
And, when it came time for me to move out, I did, then received no correspondence regarding my security deposit from them for four months (sorry, a change in management does not release you from your obligations under Utah law or make this at all professional).
They then texted me out of the blue telling me I owed them money, they were about to send it to collections, and that they'd spent my entire security deposit on repairs and cleaning (after I'd already hired professional cleaners prior to move-out, mind you), and led me on for weeks telling me I'd eventually be able to pay online with a credit card when they got their new payment portal set up.
And then, they told me today that they actually *couldn't* take payments from former residents online, and wouldn't take a credit card in person. They told me I had to pay, TODAY, with a cashier's check. Mind you, I lived half an hour away, and my credit union was a 90 minute round-trip drive in the other direction. I shudder to think how the interaction might have gone if I had moved out of Utah.
So fine, live here if you want, but be prepared to chase them down for your security deposit when you move out. I don't think it's unfair to expect people and organizations to play by the rules.
